MEET THE TRAVEL TEAM

Molly

Hi my name is Molly! I’m from Yorkshire, England & I’m a vlogger & content creator on YouTube! I’ve been making travel content for the past couple of years. I visited Thailand last year and absolutely fell IN LOVE with the country and what's more, people online seemed to find me documenting it pretty helpful too! I usually travel with my boyfriend but do dabble in solo travel too sometimes! When I’m not travelling & working you’ll usually find me listening to Taylor Swift, reading a book or attempting to surf (still working on that one) but I am so excited to be back living the island paradise dream!

bryan-headshot

Bryan

Bryan was a bit of a party guy when he was younger. In fact he was one of the pioneers of the silent disco concept and toured some of Europe's biggest festivals with his previous company Headphone Disco. Following his lifelong dream of owning his own dive school on a tropical island, he's now the proud owner of La Bombona Diving. Oh, and did we tell you he used to be an opera singer?

tom-headshot

Tom

Hi my name is Tom, I’m also from Yorkshire and I am a Graphic Designer. Molly and I have traveled across many locations in Asia, including Thailand, of all the places we’ve visited, hands down my favourite was Koh Tao and the Thai Islands. When I’m not travelling you’ll find me on a football pitch, or in the stands watching Liverpool, but don't hold it against me. I love sport, so being able to learn new sports while travelling like Surfing and Scuba Diving has been a massive highlight of the experience for me. I can’t wait to get back in the water!

      • Day 4 (27th June)

        Location: Koh Tao

We'll enjoy a relaxing yoga class before our First day of diving begins. Those who are doing the open water course will have a classroom seminar followed by their swimming pool session. Those who are doing their advanced 30m course will have a classroom seminar followed by their buoyancy and navigation dives and a night dive, and those who have chosen a fun dive package will have 2 dives on the afternoon boat and a night dive. We'll grab some food together in the evening.

      • Day 6 (29th June)

        Location: Koh Tao

It's everyone's chance to dive together today as you'll all be on the same boat. Our open water divers will be finishing their course today, so there's a lot to get excited about. Our advanced and fun divers will be out exploring 2 more dive sites today. In the evening we'll be going to a trapeze class where you'll learn to swing. And of course we'll be having a few beers to celebrate everyone finishing their courses.

    • Day 7 (30th June)

Location: Koh Tao - Koh Phangan

Early rise today for Sail Rock. A dive site not to be missed. We'll do 2 dives here, then carry straight on to Koh Phangan where we'll be picked up and transfered to Echo Beach Hostel, a great little hideout where you can chill out for the remainder of the evening.

    • Day 8 (1st July)

      Location - Koh Phangan

Today is a day off from activities, and trust us you'll need it after the last few days of heavy diving. Choose to relax in the gardens of our amazing hostel, maybe you want to rent a bike and explore? The day is yours to enjoy.

    • Day 9 (2nd July)

      Location - Koh Phangan

It's full moon party day, but that's not till much later. We're taking you on a little tour of Koh Phangan. Hike to a waterfall then enjoy some of KPG's beaches. We even have snorkeling equipment with us to let you enjoy a float around in the clear tranquil bays. Back to the hostel for 5pm, shower and relax before the party starts. We've organised a free bar for 2 hours. We'll then transfer you to the full moon party and organise getting you in there. Make sure you make it back to the hostel with your dignity intact.

    • Day 10 (3rd July)

      Location - Koh Phangan

Hangover Day!! And trust us you'll need it. Get a good breakfast in you and chill out by the beach, or venture into town. This is a free day to let you recover from the crazy party the night before.

    • Day 11 (4th July)

      Location: Khao Sok National Park

To the pier and ferry over to the mainland. Today is the day we go to Khao Sok national park. Get your cameras ready for this one. We'll take a longtail boat to our home for the evening. The famous floating bungalows on Chong Mueng Lake await. When we arrive through the meandering liestone rocks you'll have the chance to go on a cave hike, enjoy a paddle in a kayak, or just go for a swim in the tranquil waters. In the evening we'll go on a night safari. Hopefully we can see some big animals drinking from the lake.

    • Day 12 (5th July)

Location - Khao Sok National Park

We'll have breakfast at the floating bungalows and you'll have another chance for a swim before we head back on the longtail. We'll transfer you back to Surat Thani town. You'll then need to arrange your onward travel, but don't worry we are there for advice.

    Your Questions Answered

What If I don’t have any experience?

As long as you have a sense of adventure, and can swim 200m then you'll have no problem as a complete novice.  The open water course is designed for complete beginners.  You'll be surprised how far you'll come in the days you are with us learning to dive.

Can i come on my own?

Yes, we encourage solo travellers.  In fact most of the people on the trip will be travelling solo.  the whole idea is that you meet like-minded people along the way.  you'll be in god company.

Who will i share a room with?

Most of the accommodation on the trip is shared hostel accommodation in 8-10 bed dorms. We will not be sharing with the general public, so we'll be like one big happy family for the duration of the trip.  The floating bungalows are 2 people in each bungalow and we can deal with requests for sharing these in due course. If you'd like your own room we can do this, but a supplement will apply

Will all of the dive equipment be provided?

Yes. We provide everything you need during the course, fun dives. You might want to bring or purchase your own mask to enjoy the comfort and knowledge that it'll definitely fit you, there's nothing worse than an ill fitting mask, but the guys at La Bombona Diving can advise on this when you arrive.

Can I get a refund if my plans change?

Once the deposits are paid we start booking things that are non-refundable, so unfortunately we cannot offer any refunds after the payment dates.

Do I Need To Be Able to Swim To Dive?

A prerequisite of the course is that you must swim 200m unaided.  It can be in any stroke and you can take as long as you want to do the swim.
