Rescue Diver Course – Become the Diver Others Can Rely On

Once you feel confident underwater, the next step is learning how to look out for others. The Rescue Diver Course is designed for trained divers who want to strengthen their awareness, improve their problem-solving skills, and be prepared to handle challenging situations with calm and control. You'll learn to prevent issues before they happen and respond effectively when someone needs help — turning you into a safer, more responsible buddy and a valuable diver in any team.

The complete Master Rescue programme combines First Aid and Oxygen Administration training with Rescue Diver theory, confined-water skills and four open-water dives. If you already hold valid First Aid and Oxygen Administration certifications, the Rescue portion can be completed separately. Prerequisite: the Explorer or Advanced certification.

Become a Master Rescue Diver in 4 Days

12:30 pm First Aid & O2 Theory

Your training begins with the essential knowledge needed to respond to diving and general medical emergencies. You'll work through the First Aid and Oxygen Administration materials and learn how to perform CPR, provide emergency oxygen safely, use an AED, recognise potentially serious medical situations and respond appropriately while waiting for professional medical assistance. Emergency oxygen is particularly important within diving first aid, so you'll learn how and when it should be administered.

Take some time to grab food, recharge and prepare for the practical session.

3:30 pm First Aid Workshop

Now it's time to put the theory into practice. You'll work through realistic first aid scenarios and practise responding to different situations — unresponsive casualties, CPR scenarios, minor wounds, burns, dehydration, hypothermia and other common first aid situations — using the equipment covered during your theory session. At the end of the day, you'll complete the required study and homework before continuing with your Rescue training.

Your Dive Boat

Our 12-metre dive boat is spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped with all the necessary safety equipment to make every dive as safe as possible. It offers a smooth ride, space to gear up with ease, and a chill area to relax between dives. With the Gilis' sites just 10–20 minutes away, it makes your diving day smoother, more social, and a lot more enjoyable.

Frequently asked questions

What are the prerequisites for the Master Rescue course?

You need to hold the Explorer or Advanced certification, plus valid First Aid and Oxygen Administration certifications. Missing one of them? No problem — all the prerequisite training can be completed with us, and Day 1 of the course covers the First Aid & O2 package.

I already hold a First Aid certificate from another provider — does it count?

Yes — a valid First Aid certificate from a recognised provider is accepted. The Oxygen Administration part is diving-specific though, so most divers still complete the O2 training with us. If you already hold both, the Rescue portion can be completed separately — just let us know what you hold when you book.

Is the Rescue course physically demanding?

It's the most active course we teach — you'll be towing divers, performing surface rescues and running realistic scenarios — but you don't need to be an athlete. You do need to be a competent swimmer, and we build the intensity up gradually so you're always working at the edge of your ability, not beyond it.

Is there a minimum age for the Master Rescue course?

Yes — you need to be at least 15 years old to enrol in the Master Rescue course.

Is Master Rescue required before becoming a Divemaster?
